We went to India for our 5th consecutive trip.  On this trip we visited lots of Orphanages, hospitals and schools.  We went up to the Jewhadi Hills to the Periyapannaparai School where we opened “Tyler’s Store a few years ago.  This was a great success educating women of the village on how to run a business.  After seeing the success we felt it was only fair to close the store and turn it into something else so that all the women could open stores from their homes to operate their own businesses. 

So this trip we went to open “Tyler’s Library.  This particular day I had asked to visit a lady Selvi whom I had met on a previous trip. I first met Selvi when I found Selvi laying in the dirt outside the school sobbing her heart out.  I knew that cry, the cry of a mother’s broken heart.  I went and sat with her in the dirt and held her in my arms trying to comfort her. Selvi could not speak English and I could not speak Tamil.  But through the interpreter I learned that Selvi has 3 children.  They had gone to collect fire wood.  When they moved the fire wood they disrupted a wasps nest.  The children were attacked and 2 of them died.  There is no Medical facilities in The Jewhadi Hills and impossible for an ambulance to get there.  We helped Selvi and her family out financially that year with our fundraising money.  We helped with the children’s life celebration and for the family to be able to afford food for some time.  I continually thought about Selvi and her family. 

So I went to visit Selvi at her little thatched roof house.  she came out with a new baby in her arms.  He was 5 days old.  Selvi told the interpreter to tell me not to worry about her anymore as she is happy.  We went into her house and sat down and chattered.  I asked her what the baby’s name is?  The interpreter relayed the question.  They seemed to say a lot of words.  My friend and I thought “gosh it must be a long name”  The interpreter finally turned to me and said Selvi has named her son “Tyler” after your daughter Tyler and Tyler’s Store and Tyler’s Library.  I burst into tears…….my heart was bursting with joy.  I couldn’t believe it.  My friend ran back to the school to get Hudson.  He came up thinking something was wrong.  When I told him his reaction was priceless.  That kid has the biggest heart….
